说英语也有性别之分

说话本是人们相同的工具，没有性别之分，但因为男女的社会分工、性情特征、心理特点不合，每一种说话都深深地打上了性另外烙印。在外洋，有部分社会说话学家，专门钻研说话与性另外干系。美国有一位学者Graham Goodwin，从1980年到1990年，先后十次，在费城街头，搜集不合年龄、种族、职业的男、女行人的谈话，举行比较钻研，功效发明，与男子的说话比拟，女人的说话至少有下列特点。

A 女人喜好利用第一人称双数(我们)形式，好比We need……(我们需要)，而男子喜好利用第一人称双数(我)，好比I want……(我想要)。

B女人喜好利用夷易、通俗的单词，好比用nice、sweet等来描述(好)，而男子喜好利用华丽、夸张的单词，好比用splendid、gorgeous等来描述“好”。

C女人喜好发明一些比较女性化的说法，好比dove grey(类似鸽子羽毛的灰色)，而男子喜好利用英语尺度的说法，好比light grey(浅灰色)。

D女人器重语法的准确性，好比We＇re going to……(我们正在往/即将往)，而男子不器重语法的准确性，好比We＇re gonna……(我们正在往/即将往)。

E女人喜好直接援用，好比Hannah said that……(汉娜说)，而男子喜好直接援用，好比She said that……(她说)。

F女人喜好规矩表达，好比Would you please……(您能)，而男子喜好老例表达，好比Can you……(你能)。

末了一个，同时也是最重要的一个特点，那便是女人喜好谛听，而男子喜好诉说，好比下面一段对话，拿给通俗的美国人看一遍，然后让他们判定一下A和B的性别，功效全部人都以为：喋年夜言不惭的A是男子，随声赞同的B是女人。
A I saw a kingfisher Saturday morning.
B Did you﹖
A It took off about three feet from my side. I didn＇t see it in the bush. It took off out of a bush...
